1. Use free photos.
Type “free” in the search bar and get a list of free to use photos.
After step 1, choose a photo, add to post, and select Arrange. Click on Back as many times as needed to get the desired result.
Click on Transparency and adjust the transparency level.
You can also apply transparency to text by selecting the text, clicking on More and then on Transparency.
3. Edit photos inside Canva.
Select photo and click on Filter.
Choose from the given filters or adjust the image’s appearance using the Advanced Options.
Tip: You can also upload your own images for free.
4. Add links.
Select photo and click on Link.
Another method you can use is selecting the text, clicking on More and then on Link.
5. Use text spacing.
This is a nifty feature if you want more interesting visuals.
Select the text, click on More and then on Text Spacing.
6. Change color of given illustrations, icons, lines, charts, and frames.
Select icon/illustration/line/chart/frame and change each color according to your own preference from the upper left corner.
7. Select your brand colors.
Go to canva.com/brand and select your brand colors from the color palette. These will then be ready to use whenever you want to change the color of the text, background, frames, lines, icons, charts, shapes, or illustrations without having to manually find them every time. An upgraded plan lets you select your fonts and your logo as well.
8. Find font combination inspiration.
Go to canva.com/font-combinations to find the font combination that works best for you.
9. Use custom dimensions.
Get the exact desired results by going to Create a design and then clicking in the upper -right corner on Use custom dimensions.
